Pittsburgh Muslim killed in Syrian jihad praised jihad murderer of Theo Van Gogh

The Facebook page of Amiir Farouk Ibrahim — the Pittsburgh-born man missing and reported dead in Syria – includes praise for the killer of a Dutch filmmaker targeted by radical Islamists and references to jihad, or holy war.
On his page, Ibrahim reposted a statement that called Mohammed Bouyeri a “lion” for killing filmmaker and actor Theo Van Gogh in November 2004.
Bouyeri repeatedly shot, stabbed and nearly decapitated Van Gogh on an Amsterdam street after Van Gogh's film “Submission” enraged Islamists with its portrayal of the mistreatment of women in Islam.
On his Facebook page, the reposting stated that Bouyeri was a “hero” who “put an end to these extreme insults … making fun of our religion and Quran.”
In October, Ibrahim posted a statement attacking Shia Muslims – “Shia dogs in Iraq” – and urged Muslims to “wake up … support your brothers and go back to your religion (jihad) or God will put shame on you.”
Another posting referred to “one of the best jihadi hymns supporting the jihadis everywhere, like al-Qaida and the Taliban.”
In a 2011 posting, he wrote that he dreamed of Egypt becoming an Islamic state and would vote in a coming presidential election for Hazem Abu Ismail, an ultra-religious Salafi. Ismail later ended his campaign because his mother had U.S. citizenship, disqualifying him to hold the presidency under Egyptian law.
