The San Diego Police Department for Not Capitulating to CAIR

Dear Clarion Supporter,

Ryan Mauro, Clarion Project’s national security analyst, was scheduled to conduct training of police officers at the California Association of Tactical Officers' "What Law Enforcement Needs to Know About Radical Islam."

The Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) made every effort to shut him down, pressuring San Diego Police Chief Shelley Zimmerman to cancel the event.

CAIR is a Muslim Brotherhood entity in the U.S. linked to Hamas.

It is important to thank Ms. Zimmerman for refusing to capitulate to Islamist bullying.

CAIR rallied their supporter to pressure the San Diego police department. We need you to show San Diego that they made the right decision in backing Clarion and Professor Ryan Mauro by:

Dear Chief Zimmerman,

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) protested the inclusion of Clarion Project National Security Analyst Ryan Mauro at the California Association of Tactical Officers' "What Law Enforcement Needs to Know About Radical Islam" symposium.

Thank you for not capitulating to CAIR's demands.

●     CAIR was named as an unindicted co-conspirator in the largest terror-funding trial every held in America – when the Holyland Foundation was convicted of funneling money to Hamas.
●     In a 2007 court filing in the case of convicted terrorist Sabri Bekhala, federal prosecutors stated: “From its founding by Muslim Brotherhood leaders, CAIR conspired with other affiliates of the Muslim Brotherhood to support terrorists … the conspirators agreed to use deception to conceal from the American public their connections to terrorists.”
●     On November 15, 2014, the government of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) declared CAIR a terrorist organization. The FBI terminated relations with CAIR in 2009.

The Clarion Project and Mauro have an exemplary record of supporting the work of Muslim human rights activists.  Thus, it should come as no surprise that when CAIR attacked Mauro in the past, Muslim leaders have spoken out in his defense.

The San Diego Police Department is to be commended for choosing to stand with Mauro and those he supports: the brave Muslim Americans and their interfaith allies who stand for religious tolerance and universal human rights.
